Are crackers and pasta considered high in carbohydrates? I would like to try a low carb diet for a few months, but would find it difficult to not eat those two foods.

Thanks.

White flour, found in most pastas and crackers is high in carbs, and not very nutritious. You can still eat pasta, but eat the whole wheat, or the low carb brands. Still taste pretty good, but watch out for your sauces. Most sauces have a ton of sugar in them.

Whole wheat crackers are easily found. Just make sure that the first ingredient is whole wheat flour.

I started the South Beach Diet several years ago, just to lose 15, or so lbs., which came off very quickly, but I don't like the restrictions. Found a better way to handle it was by just cutting the "bad" carbs and eating more complex carbs.
